League Highlights

• Every player will play at least half of every game they participate in
• Every player will have an opportunity to be in the starting line-up multiple times
• Most of the time, every player will play against someone of similar ability
• Playing time for each player is virtually the same over the course of the season
• You child will be encouraged and praised at every practice and at every game

Common Questions:

1.  Are the evaluations mandatory?

• yes, they are mandatory
• if for any reason your child cannot make either one of our evaluation sessions please contact us at 903.592.5124 so that we can create a solution for you

2.  Can I be a coach/assistant coach for my child's team?

• yes, at the evaluations we will be asking for any parents who are interested in volunteering for their child's team
• please be aware that we require our head coaches of each team to lead the team in a Bible based devotional time and a prayer at every practice

3.  How much time will be required of my child?

• we understand everyone's busy schedules, therefore we have created a league that makes the most of you and your child's time
• practices will begin 45 minutes (for younger players) or 1 hour (for older players) before game time.  
• Games will follow your child's practice on Saturday, therefore within approximately a 2-hour timeframe you'll be able to watch your child's practice and game each Saturday

4.  How can you afford to run a soccer league on only $10 per player?

• we cannot.  please know that Westwood Baptist Church is sponsoring the league which cuts the cost for your child down to a minimum.  
• we will be providing a snack/drink stand on Saturdays to help refresh you and your children.  These proceeds will directly fund the league as well.

5.  If my child has a friend who wants to play on his/her team, can you make this happen for them?

• there is a good chance that we can, however we cannot guarantee it.
• we match players with teams based upon three things (1)speed, (2)skill, (3)experience in soccer, therefore, if it works out that we can place your child and his/her friend on the same team without jeopardizing the fairness of the draft, the we will make every effort to do so for them.

Saturday, Sept. 15th

both days come between 9:00 AM & 12:00 Noon

Your child must attend one of these two evaluation sessions in order for us to place them on teams according to their skill level.  Fair teams make for fun playing time for every child.

Also, your child will be fitted for his/her uniform at the evaluation.

For your $10 enrollment fee your child receives their uniform, end of season awards, and a great season of soccer, recreation, learning new skills, building great relationships, and being encouraged and praised by the coaches, administrators and players within the Westwood Soccer League.
